Colt AR6720

Available from Clyde Armory, the Colt AR6720, Colt's newest and lightest AR-15 designed specifically with patrolmen in mind.  This model has been adapted specifically for law enforcement needs instead of from standard military requirements. The rifle comes standard with a MaTech flip-up rear sight instead of a carry handle due to many agencies moving towards optics as a required accessory and a 1/7 twist barrel for heavier grain ammunition. Colt asked departments what they needed and almost every agency did not need a grenade launcher so the step-cut barrel was an unneeded feature. Then they asked about a heavy barrel, but most of the rifles purchased are in semi-auto configurations or were not to be used as designated marksman weapons, so a heavy barrel was also unnecessary. The company feels that this rifle is what agencies need, no extra frills, no bells and whistles, just what works.
